About Skip Day

Spend a day at the track without spending a fortune.

We offer affordable, all-day trackdays for experienced drivers with flexible schedules and a passion for self-directed practice.

Don’t get us wrong – we also love a good full-service trackday with all the bells and whistles. (We’re always happy to recommend a great track school if that’s what you’re looking for.)

About the Organizer

Colin Waltz

Passionate about finding new ways for people and machines to work better together.

In addition to running Skip Day Trackdays, Colin serves as a professional racing instructor and coach for several race groups, helping them improve their performance-driving abilities. Colin hones his own motorsports skills through International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC) racing, long-distance adventure-motorcycle trips, and, most recently, riding dirtbikes.

Born and raised in southwest Portland, Colin brings over 15 years of experience as a welder, creative fabricator, and general magic-maker. He’s as comfortable on the design/build side as he is operating the final product, and his expertise runs the gamut from creating art sculptures to repairing and maintaining personal vehicles, race cars, and motorcycles.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking and backpacking in the Great Northwest forests, traveling the world for new foods and snorkeling spots, and spending time with his family.
